Jilinda (preferably Jill) Larson (maiden name Pfeiffer) is a Tri-City graduate and has been an educator for 25 years. After earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University, Mrs. Larson taught business and computers at Riverton High School as well as being the student council sponsor. While teaching, she earned her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Illinois-Springfield. Her first administrative experience was as an Assistant Principal at Capital Area Career Center. After two years as the Assistant Principal, she was promoted to Deputy Director/Principal. In 2001, Mrs. Larson returned back to the traditional high school setting, serving as an Assistant Principal at Glenwood High School. After a year, she was promoted as the Glenwood Middle School Principal for grades 6- 8. While serving in that role for nine years, Mrs. Larson returned back to college earning a Specialist in Education degree to serve as a Superintendent from Eastern Illinois University. After Ball-Chatham reconfigured grade levels due to the construction of a new elementary, Mrs. Larson served as the Glenwood Intermediate Principal (grades 5 and 6) for a year. Mrs. Larson then served two years as Ball-Chatham's Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction before leading a district. Mrs. Larson is in her fourth year as Tri-City's Superintendent. She is happy to be back in her hometown. She looks forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders in making the teaching and learning process the best, respecting old traditions, and developing new traditions. Mrs. Larson is married and has one daughter. |
