Parent Involvement

Elementary Parent Group News:

Dear Tri-City Families:  The Parent Volunteers for the Market Day/RIF program are excited to announce that with your support this past year, we raised $2500.00!  Each Market Day order placed gives 10% of the profit to the school. This past year we were able to use these funds to support the Elementary Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) program. This program allows each child K-5 to receive two free books a year. In addition we also gave each teacher in the Elementary School extra funds for classroom supplies, and purchased gym mats for P.E.

With your help and continued support we would like to continue this tradition. The Market Day/RIF group has set a goal for 2010/2011 to raise enough funds to continue supporting the RIF program, and purchase a Smart Board for the Elementary School.  Smart Boards are a state of the art piece of equipment. The interactive boards allow teachers and students the opportunity for web based learning and activities. The cost of each Smart Board is approximately $1500.00.

Your continued dedication ordering from Market Day is appreciated. If you have not ordered from Market Day and would like too, please visit the link on the elementary news page through the Tri-City School website at www.tricityschools.org or directly at www.marketday.com  to order online. Orders can also be placed by filling out the form sent home with your child from school and return it by the date due. Market Day is an excellent product and convenient to purchase, all the while helping the children in our District.  Will you help us reach our goal? Order today!

The Tri-City Parent Volunteer Group would like to offer the opportunity to expand our group into an interest committee to discuss implementing a “Community Partners Group” within the Tri-City School District. Everyone in the community is welcome. Parents, teachers, friends, grandparents, etc. are all invited! We appreciate new volunteers, thoughts, and ideas to help foster school spirit within our District.

If you are interested in learning more about this volunteer opportunity, please contact the elementary office or e-mail Mrs. Cummins at kcummins@tricityschools.org
